Creating the Perfect Message
Figuring out what to ask your customer to do in your video might be confusing. So here’s some advice to help you craft the perfect message for your customers!
- What is the purpose of the message?
- The message lets your customer know what to do in the video they take!
- Why can’t I let them do whatever they want?
- When customers are instructed to do a specific action, it helps them create their video!
- When people have to decide what to do in a video, they spend a lot of time just thinking about what they should do in the video. Or, they give up on even creating the video. So, to help guide them, you can tell them what to do!
- Additionally, having many videos of people doing similar actions makes it easier to use in your marketing campaigns.
- I don’t know what to ask them to do…
- Think about what your product or service does for your customer! Why did they purchase it from your brand? How do they use your product or service in their daily lives? What energy do you want your customers to convey, a chill one? An energetic one?
- Once you know that, ask them to show you how they use the product. For example, if you sell lip gloss, ask your customers to apply it in their videos! If you’re hosting a music festival, tell your customers to take a video of themselves dancing to the music.
- What are some example messages?
- Create a fun memory by dancing!
- Take a video and create a lasting memory with ____.
- Show us how excited you are to be at ____.
- Show us how you use ___ at home.
- Show off your new ____ outfit.
- Capture your emotion while ____.
Additionally, make sure the song and filter you choose match the action the customers do in the video! For example, depending on your campaign, a slow, melancholy song might not go with your customer dancing and jumping around in their video.
With this tip sheet, you can now write a helpful message to instruct your customers on what they should do in their video! We can’t wait to see what your customers create with your brand.
