Getting Started with Vidlo (Pro Account)

Welcome to Vidlo! Before you get started on creating a campaign, here are some tips to help you succeed!

Let’s start with the landing screen:

Upload your logo

  • We recommend a transparent background to ensure that your logo goes well with the background! You want people to see your logo clearly in the videos created!

Background

  • You can choose to upload your own image or GIF for the background! Be careful with what you choose for the background, you want your logo and message to be legible against it. Try not to use an image or video that is too busy.
  • An example of a good combo is a watercolor print that has pastel colors and a dark colored font that contrasts. An example of a bad combo would be a cloudy background with white font.

  • Or, you can choose a color for the background! Pick a color that matches your brand. Also, consider how your logo and message will look on the color. Be sure to pick a color that doesn’t distract from these components.

  • Check out https://www.colorbook.io/ for colors that go well together and contrast well! A good example would be a black background with yellow font, a bad example would be a white background with yellow font.

Message

  • This is one of the most important steps. It is crucial that you are clear with your audience on what type of video you want them to create. Your audience is looking for CLEAR directions. Tell your audience what they should take a video of! For example, if you have a fashion brand, and you want the user to take a video that shows their outfit, tell them to do different poses in their outfits to show off their new look.
  • Once you choose a color, choose one that is legible. Make sure the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are visible, so that your audience can agree to the terms before creating their video.

Let’s continue with creating your Branded Video:

Filter

  • When you think of the action you want your users to do, choose a filter that would help enhance the action! If you want the user to do a simple action, such as showing off their outfit, then use a more dynamic filter! Also, consider your brand’s personality; if you are a more serious brand, then choose a more simplistic filter.

  • You can also base the filter on the sound you picked! Make sure that the sound and filter are connected. For example, if you pick a mellow song, you might choose a more simple filter. If the song is more hype, then pick a more dynamic filter that matches the vibe of the song!

Sound

  • Think of what your brand personality is; exciting, humorous, sophisticated? You want to choose a song that matches this and brings the videos, and your brand, to life.
  • Browse our sound library and select your personality mood to choose a song! You can filter results from mellow to hype, or by a specific category.
  • Best Practice: We recommend that you choose the sound and then the filter! Here’s an example: Use (sound) with (filter)

You can also upload your own sound.

  • If you choose to upload your own sound, be sure that you own the copyright to the uploaded sound. If you upload audio, it has to be 15 seconds!

Add your Brand's Website URL

  • If you want to drive awareness back to your personal brand or link your brand’s website for sale opportunities (this is your opportunity). This will help the user learn more about your brand and see the product or service you provide.

Moving on to the Data Capture screen:

Promo Message

  • This message is what the user will receive before they can share their Vidlo. Think about what you want to offer the users that have made your videos. This could be a discount or an entry into a raffle for a free product or simply a thank you message for creating a video.

Data Capture

  • What data about your customers do you want to capture? You can choose up to 5 and you can also add your own question. This data can be used to gain a better understanding of your customers and helps you measure your ROI.

Almost done! Let’s go to the Publish screen:

Generate URL

  1. Create a URL that is short and easy to remember to ensure that your customers are able to find it easily! (NOTE: your custom URL is usually your brand’s name or your campaigns name). If you have multiple campaigns, they all must have a different URL.

QR Code

  • With your Pro Account, we generate a QR code for your Vidlo campaign! Your customers are able to scan your QR code and access your Vidlo campaign. You can put the QR code on promotional flyers, TV screens, emails, social media, and many other places. Check out our QR code tip sheet for more info! (link to it)
